Job Title - Embedded Engineer (Ethernet/IP Expertise)

Location - Boston, MA, USA โ€“ Onsite (Relocation Available)

Employment Type - Contract (C2C)


About the Role

We are seeking an Embedded Engineer with strong Ethernet/IP expertise to support an industrial automation engagement. The successful candidate will contribute to protocol stack integration, embedded firmware development, and real-time system optimization for industrial networking solutions.

This role requires hands-on experience with Common Industrial Protocol (CIP), embedded systems, and real-time operating environments.

Key Responsibilities

โ€ข Develop and integrate Ethernet/IP and CIP protocol stacks (Adapter or Scanner implementations)

โ€ข Design and implement embedded software using C/C++

โ€ข Work with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or ThreadX

โ€ข Integrate TCP/IP stacks and Ethernet drivers into embedded platforms

โ€ข Conduct ODVA compliance and interoperability testing

โ€ข Debug and troubleshoot network traffic and protocol issues using tools such as Wireshark

โ€ข Collaborate with hardware and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration

โ€ข Support testing, validation, and performance optimization of embedded solutions


Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

โ€ข 5โ€“10 years of experience in embedded systems development

โ€ข Strong expertise in Common Industrial Protocol (CIP) / Ethernet/IP

โ€ข Hands-on experience with protocol stack integration (Adapter or Scanner devices)

โ€ข Proficiency in C / C++ for embedded development

โ€ข Experience working with RTOS (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, or equivalent)

โ€ข Strong understanding of TCP/IP stack and Ethernet driver integration

โ€ข Experience with ODVA compliance and interoperability validation

โ€ข Proven debugging experience using Wireshark or similar network analysis tools

โ€ข Open to all visa categories
