Working Model & Future Location:

This position starts as remote. As the organization expands its European footprint (with Romania planned as the first office location), there may be opportunities for relocation or periodic on-site collaboration. We welcome candidates who are open to future mobility and international travel.

Role Overview

- We are seeking a Head of PMO to establish and lead a scalable, disciplined, and transparent project governance framework across a large and growing organization.

- Reporting directly to the Chief Delivery Officer (CDO), the Head of PMO owns portfolio visibility, project management standards, and Project Manager capability development.

- This role ensures initiatives are structured, measurable, and consistently governed — while execution authority remains within the Delivery organization.

Core Responsibilities

Portfolio Governance & Visibility

- Establish and maintain a consolidated portfolio view of all initiatives

- Define and enforce initiative lifecycle standards

- Provide reliable reporting to the CDO on:

 + Commitment stability

 + Portfolio risk exposure

- Capacity vs roadmap alignment (in partnership with Delivery)

- Ensure consistent project reporting across domains

Project Management Standards & Methodology

- Define and maintain project management frameworks and playbooks

Standardize:

 + Planning models

 + RAID management

 + Stakeholder reporting

- Change control processes

- Continuously improve governance practices without introducing unnecessary overhead

Project Manager Leadership & Capability

- Line-manage Senior Project Managers and Project Managers

- Coach and develop PM capability across the organization

- Lead recruitment and hiring of Project Managers

- Define PM competency frameworks and career paths

- Build and maintain a strong PM community of practice

Tooling & Reporting Integrity

- Oversee Jira governance through the Jira Administrator

- Ensure data accuracy and reporting consistency across initiatives

- Eliminate manual or duplicate tracking practices

- Partner with Delivery to align reporting with execution reality

Required Experience

- 6+ years in PMO leadership, Delivery Operations, or senior Program/Project Management roles

- Proven experience building PMO functions in scaling organizations

- Strong leadership, coaching, and hiring experience

- Experience operating in complex, multi-team environments

The Head of PMO:

- Does not validate delivery dates

- Does not override Delivery Managers on capacity or readiness decisions

- Does not control domain-level execution

- Does not approve or block release decisions but raises flags
