Job Description

One of our clients is seeking a Backend Engineer to support one of Japan’s largest commercial real estate data platforms.

This is a core position at a high-growth company redefining one of the world’s largest real estate markets through data. You will be responsible end-to-end for ETL, data modeling, and API development.

Would you be interested in joining a team that structures one of Japan’s largest real estate datasets and turns “data itself” into a product?

The company aims to transform complex real-world information into a highly accurate data platform and drive the entire industry toward a data-driven future.

Job Details

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building data pipelines that generate the real estate data delivered to users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build real estate data collection systems (input systems, integration APIs, batch processing)
  • Design and implement modeling for the data platform
  • Design, implement, and operate ETL / normalization / entity resolution processes (Python, dbt, Terraform)
  • Build and maintain data processing pipelines
  • Develop backend APIs (geocoding, machine learning integration, data distribution) using Python and Rust
  • Develop internal data correction systems (Rust, React, Python)

About the Company

With the mission of “Unlocking the true value of industry,” this is a fast-growing startup building data infrastructure for the real estate industry.

The company owns and structures one of Japan’s largest office real estate datasets and leverages it as the foundation for multiple SaaS products.

It is transforming a traditionally analog industry into a data-driven ecosystem.

As the business expands and the number of products increases, strengthening the data platform has become a critical phase that directly impacts business growth.

This is a fast-paced environment where you can challenge yourself to reshape industry structures using large-scale data.

  • The autonomy to enhance product value through long-term technical proposals

Requirements

  • Japanese Language Business Level (JLPT N2 +)
  • Fundamental understanding of computer science (data structures, computational complexity, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in web backend or server-side development and operations
  • Experience developing with RDBs (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Experience in team-based development using Git or similar tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Development experience with statically typed languages such as Rust, Go, or Kotlin
  • Experience using DWH solutions such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift
  • Experience in business logic design and domain modeling
  • Knowledge of machine learning
  • Strong interest in Rust

Compensation

  • Annual salary: Up to ¥13,000,000
  • Salary review: Twice per year (performance-based)

Location

  • Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo (Tokyo Midtown)
  • Hybrid work available (within Tokyo metropolitan area / approx. 90-minute commute radius)
