About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Trading Technology team within a multi-strategy hedge fund. This role focuses on enhancing our trading architecture, spanning both greenfield development and the ongoing enhancement of mission-critical production platforms. You will work on systems that directly support live trading, where correctness, performance, and reliability are paramount. The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals and a proven track record of operating in live trading environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve trading systems supporting a range of trading strategies and workflows.
- Own and enhance existing trading platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and correctness in live trading environments.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction for the trading technology stack.
- Partner closely with traders, quants, and other technology teams.
- Take ownership of critical production systems, including diagnosing and resolving incidents in a calm, structured, and transparent manner.
- Mentor junior engineers, setting a high bar for quality, testing, and operational discipline.
- Contribute across the full software lifecycle, from design through deployment and support.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and supporting live trading systems.
- Experience integrating with third-party OMS platforms and trading infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of capital markets concepts and trading workflows.
- Strong understanding of security masters, reference data, and how financial instruments are modeled and identified across trading systems.
- Comfortable working on-site at least 4 days per week.

- Experience across multiple languages, including Python, Rust/C++, and a JVM language.
- Familiarity with vendor platforms such as FlexTrade, Trading Technologies, or BidFX.
- Background in designing and building complex distributed systems or large-scale applications from scratch.
- Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code, particularly Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with AWS.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, with an understanding of their benefits and risks in production systems.
