Job Description


We are keen to offer this opportunity to an enthusiastic, highly motivated Health Visitor with visionary leadership skills to join an evolving and supportive Health Visiting Team within NHS Forth Valley area.

The post holder will work in partnership with Health Visitors, Primary Care and multiagency colleagues to deliver the Universal Health Visiting Pathway and provide high quality, safe, person centred, accessible care to families with pre-school aged children across the locality.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and operational management of the Health Visiting Service as delegated by the Clinical Nurse Manager. They will divide their time between managerial and clinical duties. The clinical component consists of the provision of formal clinical supervision sessions for a qualified Health Visitors throughout the health visiting service.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of GIRFEC and its application to practice. He/she will also possess in depth knowledge of current professional and strategic policy drivers.

Applicants must be educated to degree level and be a first level registered nurse or midwife with an active post registration qualification in health visiting (as entered on Part 3 of the NMC register). Successful candidates will possess relevant post registration experience and evidence of ongoing professional development

A working knowledge of child protection systems is a requirement for this post and an understanding of IT systems is essential.

We offer training, induction and development opportunities to support personal and professional development and candidates must be willing to undertake further training in clinical supervision if they do not already possess these skills.

Due to the geographical location, the ability and willingness to travel throughout the area of service delivery is essential for this post.
