Job Description


Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Performance Engineer. This role is 100% remote. Summary: Our client is seeking a highly skilled Performance Engineer III to support a large-scale core deposit transformation initiative. This consultant will join a team of performance specialists focused on ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal system performance across distributed banking platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in LoadRunner, advanced diagnostics, and enterprise-level performance testing in modern, cloud-based environments. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute performance test scripts using HP LoadRunner
  • Execute performance tests within LoadRunner Enterprise
  • Analyze and report on performance results and system behavior
  • Utilize Dynatrace and Splunk for advanced diagnostics and monitoring
  • Collaborate daily with a team of performance engineers on enterprise initiatives
  • Identify system bottlenecks and recommend optimization strategies
  • Support performance testing of microservices, APIs, and batch workflows
  • Partner with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues
  • Contribute to capacity planning and performance best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Performance Engineer or in a related role
  • At least 1 year of experience in application development or test automation
  • Experience supporting high-traffic, large-scale distributed systems
  • Expert-level experience with HP LoadRunner scripting
  • Strong experience executing and analyzing tests in LoadRunner Enterprise
  • Advanced diagnostic experience using Dynatrace
  • Experience with tools such as Dynatrace, Fiddler, JMeter, Hammer, and Performance Center
  • Understanding of performance testing methodologies and lifecycle processes
  • Knowledge of application scalability and enterprise system tuning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to track data flow across full application stacks
  • Ability to work effectively in a distributed, cross-functional environment
  • Proven ability to analyze multi-tier, n-tier, and client-server architectures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Splunk for performance monitoring
  • Performance tuning experience with .NET applications and OpenShift
  • Banking or financial services experience
  • Experience testing batch processing workflows
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (profiling and tuning)
  • Understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and APIs
  • Familiarity with container technologies and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with open-source testing tools (JMeter, httperf)
  • Knowledge of HTTP, REST, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
