Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a DAS Field Performance Engineer based in SoCal (Orange County preferred). The role consists of performing DAS commissioning, troubleshooting, field testing, BM testing, and performance testing, and ensuring optimization of wireless networks. Responsibilities include collaborating with team members to analyze and resolve network challenges, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, and collaborating on the development and implementation of enhanced wireless solutions for diverse environments. The engineer will also interact with the design team to ensure operational efficiency and seamless coverage in all deployed systems.

Position Overview
The DAS Field Performance Engineer is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, field testing, monitoring, and maintaining the performance of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) to ensure reliable indoor cellular coverage and capacity. This role focuses on RF optimization, DAS troubleshooting, drive test analysis, interference mitigation, carrier compliance, and system tuning across multi-operator environments.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in RF engineering, LTE/5G performance optimization, and in-building wireless systems.
Key Responsibilities
DAS Performance Optimization
- Analyze and optimize DAS performance to meet coverage, capacity, and quality KPIs.
- Perform RF tuning, including power balancing, antenna optimization, and uplink/downlink alignment.
- Optimize multi-band and multi-operator systems supporting LTE, 5G NR, and legacy technologies.
- Ensure compliance with operator performance benchmarks and SLAs.
RF Testing & Validation
- Conduct walk tests, grid testing, and benchmarking using tools such as:
- TEMS
- Nemo Wireless Network Solutions
- PCTEL scanners and probes
- Validate coverage maps and propagation models.
- Perform post-installation and post-upgrade acceptance testing.

Commissioning & Troubleshooting
- Identify and mitigate sources of interference, including PIM, oscillation, and external RF noise.
- DAS commissioning follows industry standard processes.
- Familiar with AT&T's 5-step commissioning process.
- Troubleshoot uplink noise floor issues and desensitization.
- Work with field teams to resolve hardware and configuration issues.
System Monitoring & Remote Optimization
- Utilize C Squared platforms to monitor system alarms and performance.
- Perform remote adjustments including gain settings, channel power, and band activation.
- Support network operations teams with performance insights.
Documentation & Reporting
- Produce performance reports, acceptance documentation, and optimization logs.
- Maintain RF design updates and system configuration records.
- Provide recommendations for performance enhancements.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience
