Job Description


Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an HR Generalist (Temporary โ€“ Maternity Leave Coverage) for a respected national nonprofit organization. This is a fully remote opportunity (Must Reside -East Coast).


POSITION OVERVIEW:

This HR Generalist will step into a critical, hands-on role supporting payroll, benefits, and leave administration during a maternity leave coverage period. The position requires a seasoned HR professional who can independently manage multi-state payroll and employee benefits with minimal onboarding. RESPONSIBILITIES:

โ€ข Independently process multi-state payroll across 38 states

โ€ข Manage leave of absence cases, including FMLA and state leave programs

โ€ข Administer employee benefits, enrollments, changes, and related inquiries

โ€ข Support employee relations matters and general HR inquiries

โ€ข Collaborate with internal HR team members to ensure compliance and operational continuity

โ€ข Assist with performance management initiatives as needed


QUALIFICATIONS:

โ€ข Strong HR Generalist background with hands-on payroll ownership

โ€ข Experience processing multi-state domestic payroll

โ€ข Deep knowledge of benefits administration and leave of absence management

โ€ข Comfortable working independently with minimal training

โ€ข Familiarity with HRIS systems (Salesforce preferred; Resource Edge and PEO experience a plus)


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$28.00โ€“$31.25/hour, DOE. The role is full-time (40 hours/week) and fully remote. This is a temporary maternity leave coverage opportunity expected to run through July, with potential exposure to meaningful HR initiatives and organizational projects.
