About The Role

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing a variety of websites that support our products and customer engagement strategies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in eCommerce development, particularly with multiple payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal, and a strong troubleshooting mindset for resolving payment and subscription issues. You will work on both front-end and back-end development, leveraging modern PHP practices, JavaScript, and various cloud technologies to extend website functionalities. Collaboration is key, as you will share ownership of projects, contribute ideas, and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative features, improve website performance, and support our company's growth in a remote, global environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with WordPress architecture and development
• Proficiency in PHP, including object-oriented programming (OOP), autoloading, and namespacing
• Strong JavaScript skills, including vanilla JS, jQuery, and ES6
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs and payment gateways such as Stripe and PayPal
• Familiarity with package managers like Composer and NPM
• Excellent attention to detail in HTML and CSS/SCSS for designing visually appealing websites
• Proficiency with Git, branching, merging workflows, and version control strategies
• Experience with WP-CLI and Linux/Shell scripting for supporting DevOps tasks
• Knowledge of SQL, particularly writing performant queries for MySQL databases
• Experience with eCommerce platforms and payment processing
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement effective solutions

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance WordPress websites and plugins to support business needs
• Integrate and troubleshoot third-party APIs, especially payment gateways like Stripe and PayPal
• Optimize website performance, security, and scalability
• Create and extend custom functionalities, including Gutenberg blocks when applicable
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following modern PHP and JavaScript best practices
• Perform testing and code reviews to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Support ancillary installations and technologies beyond WordPress as needed
• Participate in collaborative project planning and technical discussions
• Support DevOps tasks, including server management and deployment automation
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs related to payments, subscriptions, and website functionality
• Leverage AI tools to improve development efficiency and code quality
