About the Role: The Senior Director, SRE & Cloud Infrastructure will lead teams responsible for the reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency of the data security platform’s infrastructure. This role owns the operational foundation supporting the engineering organization and customer-facing products at large scale. The position involves setting strategy, mentoring teams, and engaging in technical leadership while collaborating across functions to optimize infrastructure, manage costs, and enhance developer and operational experiences. The role significantly influences the engineering culture and operational excellence as the platform scales.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor globally distributed SRE and Infrastructure teams, including managers and senior individual contributors
- Ensure reliability, availability, scalability, and performance of production and developer platforms
- Define and implement SRE and infrastructure strategies, including cloud architecture, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and automation
- Enable horizontal scaling and team independence via architectural and process modularization
- Optimize infrastructure costs, capacity planning, and cloud financial management in partnership with Finance and Engineering
- Establish and maintain SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and operational best practices
- Oversee incident management, postmortems, and continuous improvement with a focus on learning and ownership
- Collaborate with security teams to maintain secure, compliant, and resilient infrastructure
- Maintain strong documentation, operational standards, and promote knowledge sharing

Qualifications:
- Experience leading SRE and Infrastructure organizations in high-growth SaaS, platform, or security environments
- Strong technical leadership with expertise in cloud-native systems and an SRE mindset
- Proficiency with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (GCP and/or AWS), and infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent)
- Background in designing or operating large-scale distributed systems, real-time data pipelines, or high-throughput platforms
- Experience managing COGS, cloud spending, and efficiency metrics with the ability to communicate tradeoffs to executives
- Skilled at strategic planning, architectural review, and in-depth technical problem solving
- Data-driven approach to improving reliability, performance, cost, and team productivity
- Proven ability to scale teams and systems while maintaining reliability and velocity
- Empathetic leadership promoting inclusion, ownership, accountability, and psychological safety
- Adaptable to fast-paced environments and comfortable with ambiguity and change
