Senior Snowflake Data Architect Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Snowflake Data Architect to support the continued evolution and optimization of our client's modern data platform, supporting business intelligence and affiliate marketing analytics for their website.

The data platform is fully implemented with Snowflake, Kafka, and Confluent, operating within a structured Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers). Data ingestion and processing pipelines are functioning successfully. The current focus is optimizing the Gold layer to enhance performance, scalability, and analytical accuracy.

This engagement will provide architectural leadership, hands-on data modeling expertise, and technical guidance to a team of two Data Engineers and one BI Engineer.

• Initial architecture assessment
  

• Optimization roadmap
  

• Hands-on implementation support

• Ongoing advisory support as needed
  

• Assess the current Snowflake environment and Medallion architecture
  

• Review and optimize Gold layer data models
  

• Design and implement scalable fact and dimension tables
  

• Apply best practices in dimensional modeling (Kimball, star schema, snowflake schema where appropriate)
  

• Improve query performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability
  
  

• Optimize clustering, partitioning, and storage strategies in Snowflake
  

• Improve query efficiency and warehouse utilization

• Identify bottlenecks in transformation pipelines
  

• Implement data governance and modeling standards
  
  

• Provide hands-on guidance to 2 Data Engineers and 1 BI Engineer
  

• Establish modeling best practices and documentation standards
  

• Review code, transformations, and architectural decisions
  

• Support knowledge transfer and long-term capability building within the team
  
  

• Translate affiliate marketing business requirements into scalable data models
  

• Design analytics-ready structures to track:
  

  • Clicks
    

  • Payouts
    

  • Traffic sources
    

  • Visitor engagement
    

  • Affiliate performance metrics
    

• Ensure models support BI reporting, dashboarding, and future growth

• 8+ years in Data Engineering / Data Architecture
  

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake
  

• Deep expertise in dimensional data modeling
  

• Proven experience designing fact and dimension tables
  

• Strong understanding of Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  

• Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka and Confluent
  

• Strong SQL and performance optimization skills
  

• Experience mentoring technical teams
  

• Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment
  

• Experience in affiliate marketing, digital publishing, or performance marketing analytics
  

• Experience optimizing large-scale analytical workloads
  

• Knowledge of BI tools and analytics workflows
  

• Familiarity with modern ELT frameworks
