About The Role

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining infrastructure to support new features, enhance existing functionalities, and ensure the stability and scalability of our platform. Your work will directly impact millions of users by improving user experience and performance. You will own features from conception through development, testing, and deployment, collaborating closely with other developers, designers, and product managers. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have professional experience with WordPress plugin development, architecture, and adherence to coding standards. Proficiency in PHP and MySQL, including modern PHP practices such as object-oriented programming, autoloading, and namespacing, is essential. Strong familiarity with JavaScript, including vanilla JS, jQuery, and ES6, is required. Experience with build tools like gulp and webpack, as well as package managers such as Composer and NPM, is highly desirable. Candidates should have prior experience working with third-party APIs such as Stripe, Zapier, or similar services. Competence with version control systems like Git and GitHub is mandatory. Bonus points for experience with JavaScript frameworks like VueJS or React, e-commerce integrations, and DevOps or infrastructure management. Excellent troubleshooting skills, clear communication abilities, and a proactive mindset are key to success in this role.

Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include triaging bugs and small enhancements via GitHub, scoping, developing, and testing new product features and add-ons, and refactoring legacy code with an emphasis on maintaining backwards compatibility. You will conduct peer reviews of pull requests, providing constructive feedback to fellow developers. Effective communication with team members through chat, audio, and video is vital to ensure alignment and project progress. You will also be responsible for writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and standards. Additionally, you will collaborate on architectural decisions, contribute to project planning, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Flexibility to work on tasks of all sizes—from quick bug fixes to major feature rewrites—is expected, along with a passion for delivering high-quality craftsmanship in every aspect of your work.
