A Computing & Networking Systems Customer Application Engineer job in Grand Rapids, MI is available courtesy of Akkodis. This architect role is central to collaborating with customers to define these platforms, driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge computing platform technology and products.
This entails a deep engagement with customers to grasp their technological and product requirements, architecting novel systems, and spearheading the creation of new computing, network, and security technologies and products. Additionally, this role involves close collaboration with product development teams for implementation, engaging in individual and team-based internal research and development, responding to customer proposals, providing technical leadership, and advising product teams. Relocation package to Grand Rapids, MI is available.
Salary: $150,000 up to $200,000
Computing & Networking Systems Customer Application Engineer Responsibilities
- Lead in a technical development capacity.
- Explore and implement processing architectures, focusing on interfaces, operating systems, multi-core determinism, and embedded processors for enhanced performance processing.
- Develop and integrate network end systems and switches, utilizing Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), UDP, TCIP, ARINC 664, IEEE 802.3/802.1 Ethernet, among other protocols.
- Expertise in computing and networking and TS new development
- Collaborate with the civil and military aerospace sectors to produce certified architectures.
- Craft and evolve certifiable configuration tools for platform configuration, integration with model-based development tools, and security protocols.

- Bachelors Degree
- At least 10 years' experience in Embedded Computing, Networking, Software, or Systems Engineering, or a similar capacity.
- Must have aerospace/avionics industry experience
- Familiarity with avionics design guidance documents such as RTCA DO-297, DO-178, DO-254, and SAE ARP4754, as well as aerospace certification guidance documents like SAE ARP4761.
- Knowledge of engineering processes including requirements definition, allocation, validation, verification, integration, embedded software, electronic systems, FAA/EASA/NAA certification, and system safety
