Your Mission

As a Backend Engineer at Rime Finance, you'll be central to developing the backbone of our investment platform. You'll architect and build robust backend services using Python, creating seamless integration points for fintechs and financial institutions to effortlessly embed private market investing capabilities into their offerings.

Your work will focus on developing scalable solutions around critical areas such as investor onboarding, transaction lifecycles, DLT-based settlements, and integrating Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven services.

Our Tech Stack includes Python, Django, FastAPI, GCP, Kafka, and PostgreSQL. We highly value strong Python experience and are looking for engineers who take ownership and accountability for their work, think beyond code to consider business and product implications, care deeply about code quality without over-engineering, communicate clearly in a small team, and thrive in a fast-moving startup environment.

About You

• You have extensive experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code in Python or another OOP language.
• You possess a strong foundation in building scalable, reliable and well documented REST APIs and backend architectures.
• You're proficient with cloud-based infrastructure (preferably AWS or GCP) and familiar with modern architectural patterns suited for cloud environments.
• You have solid experience with relational databases and ideally some exposure to event streaming platforms like Kafka.

Technical Call (30-45 mins)

A first conversation with a tech team member to discuss your experience, technical and collaboration skills, and mutual expectations.

Tech Deep-Dive (60-180 mins, Whiteboard-session, preferably on-site in Berlin)

Join us for a detailed technical discussion covering system design, problem-solving, and your approach to engineering challenges. Afterwards, get the chance the chance to meet the rest of the team for lunch or coffee.

Offer Call (30 mins)

Final call to discuss details of your offer, answer any remaining questions, and outline next steps.
