Senior Cloud Network Engineer (AWS Primary | Azure Required)
Averro is seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to join our client’s team in a full-time, direct hire capacity. This role is fully remote within the United States and is designed for a senior-level engineer who can lead AWS cloud networking delivery while supporting Azure networking initiatives in hybrid enterprise environments.
This is a hands-on engineering role with client-facing and pre-sales collaboration responsibilities. The ideal candidate is technically deep in AWS networking, capable in Azure, and confident leading whiteboard sessions, architectural discussions, and implementation efforts.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-grade AWS cloud networking solutions across multi-account environments
- Architect and deploy advanced AWS networking components including VPC segmentation, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, and Route 53
- Deliver Azure networking solutions including hub-and-spoke VNet design, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints, and UDR implementation
- Design hybrid connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments (VPN, Direct Connect, ExpressRoute)
- Participate in client discovery sessions and technical whiteboarding engagements
- Identify architectural risks and provide mitigation strategies during pre-sales discussions
- Develop reusable cloud networking patterns, standards, and best practices
- Produce high-quality HLD (High-Level Design) and LLD (Low-Level Design) documentation
- Deploy infrastructure using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code best practices
- Mentor enterprise networking engineers transitioning into cloud networking disciplines
- Provide internal knowledge transfer and contribute to cloud networking capability maturity

Essential Qualifications
- 7+ years of enterprise networking experience with strong routing, BGP, and core networking fundamentals
- Advanced AWS networking expertise (multi-account VPC architecture, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, segmentation)
- Hands-on Azure networking delivery experience (hub-spoke architecture, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints)
- Experience designing hybrid connectivity architectures across on-prem and cloud
- Enterprise firewall experience (Palo Alto strongly preferred)
- Terraform-based infrastructure deployment experience
- Strong documentation skills with demonstrated experience producing HLD and LLD artifacts
- Experience participating in client-facing discovery and architectural sessions
