About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Backend Developer / Engineer specializing in NestJS, TypeScript, Node.js, and Go to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance backend systems that power our marketplaces. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, UX/UI designers, and other developers, to deliver robust solutions from conception through deployment. The position offers a hybrid work environment based in Lüneburg near Hamburg, with opportunities for remote work, providing flexibility to balance professional and personal commitments. As a key member of our agile development team, you will have the opportunity to influence the technical direction of our platforms, contribute innovative ideas, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of practical experience with NestJS and TypeScript, demonstrating strong backend development skills
• Extensive experience in building and maintaining server-side applications and APIs
• Proficiency in Node.js and familiarity with Go programming language
• Solid understanding of database systems, including MongoDB, SQL, or NoSQL databases
• Experience working with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Strong grasp of software architecture principles, code quality standards, and scalability considerations

• Excellent communication skills in German, with a minimum B2 proficiency level
  
  

Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with microservice architectures, Go language, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services and APIs using NestJS, TypeScript, Node.js, and Go
• Implement scalable microservices architecture to support high-traffic platforms
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure the performance, security, and reliability of backend systems
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and continuous integration processes to uphold code quality
