Vantage Point is a consulting company that builds platforms used by tens of thousands of service members, students, and career changers every month. We ship real products to real users—and we’re looking for someone who can understand the problems our clients face and build the solutions that solve them.

We’re hiring a problem solver who can code—not just a coder. A big part of this role is working directly with clients: understanding their challenges, translating needs into technical solutions, and delivering software that moves the needle. You’ll be as comfortable in a client conversation as you are in a codebase.

We’ve already begun our AI development journey. Our team writes code with AI every day—Claude, Codex, Gemini—and we’ve built the workflows and standards to make it work at production quality. Now we need someone to join us, help continue what we’ve started, and refine it as we grow. This isn’t a side experiment. It’s how we build everything.

Our development team is small, which means your work will have an outsized impact. You won’t be a number on a large engineering org—you’ll be a core contributor shipping features that thousands of people use.

What You’ll Do

• Work directly with clients to understand their problems, gather requirements, and translate needs into technical solutions
• Build and ship features across our product portfolio using AI-assisted development workflows
• Write code alongside AI coding agents—prompting, reviewing, iterating, and owning the final output
• Work across the full stack: frontend interfaces, backend APIs, databases, and infrastructure
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and quality processes
• Collaborate with a small, senior team that values initiative and moves fast

• You’re a problem solver first—you listen to what clients need, think through the options, and build the right thing
• You communicate clearly and confidently—with clients, teammates, and stakeholders
• You can read, write, and debug code confidently—the language matters less than the fundamentals
• You have experience with some of our stack: Node.js, React or Angular, C#/.NET, PostgreSQL, Python
• You’re comfortable on the command line: Linux, Git, SSH, basic scripting
• You have some exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
• You’ve used or are eager to use AI tools to write code—Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar
• You take ownership of your work and don’t wait to be told what to do next
• You’re honest about what you know and what you don’t—and you close that gap quickly
