Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer to support and evolve a hybrid infrastructure environment consisting of approximately 90% on-premise systems and 10% AWS cloud. This role is ideal for an engineer who understands traditional data center architecture but can apply modern cloud and DevOps practices to improve automation, scalability, and reliability.

This position requires strong experience with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation, while maintaining a deep understanding of physical infrastructure, networking, and on-prem environments. We are not looking for heavy AWS certification credentials — we need a practical engineer who can design, build, and operate hybrid solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support hybrid cloud infrastructure across on-prem data centers and AWS environments.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize Kubernetes clusters in on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable automated deployments and consistent release management.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Partner with networking, infrastructure, and application teams to modernize legacy systems and integrate them into cloud-enabled workflows.
  • Support containerized workloads and ensure high availability, performance, and resilience.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, and performance across hybrid environments.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and connectivity issues across data center and cloud platforms.
  • Implement security best practices across cloud and on-prem systems.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps roles.
  • Strong experience managing on-prem data center environments (compute, storage, virtualization, networking).
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.).
  • Experience with AWS services in a hybrid capacity (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing).
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in highly available enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with container registries and orchestration best practices.
  • Understanding of hybrid connectivity models (VPN, Direct Connect).
  • Experience supporting modernization efforts within legacy infrastructure environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Comfortable operating in a 90% on-prem, 10% AWS environment.
  • Practical and hands-on — not overly focused on certifications.
  • Strong foundation in data center operations and infrastructure fundamentals.
  • Understands how to bridge traditional infrastructure with modern cloud-native practices.
  • Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced engineering environment.
