Infrastructure Engineer (Linux / AWS)

Remote (UK) | Up to £75,000


We’re hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to help maintain and improve a highly available Linux platform running entirely in AWS.


You’ll join a small team responsible for keeping production systems reliable, secure and operating at scale. The environment runs primarily on Linux EC2 instances, with services including PostgreSQL, Redis (ElastiCache) and messaging systems.


This is a hands-on role working across Linux systems, networking, cloud environments and automation, helping ensure the platform remains stable and highly available.


Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve Linux systems running in AWS

• Manage and optimise EC2 environments and networking

• Configure and support PostgreSQL database instances

• Build and troubleshoot VPN connections with external partners

• Analyse network traffic and diagnose connectivity issues

• Improve automation using Ansible

• Maintain system security and platform reliability


What we’re looking for

• Strong experience working with Linux in production environments

• Experience managing infrastructure in AWS

• Experience with VPN technologies and networking

• Knowledge of iptables or Linux firewall configuration

• Experience using Ansible for configuration management


Nice to have

• Experience with message queues (e.g. RabbitMQ)

• Experience working with Redis or other caching systems

• Familiarity with SQL databases
