Job Description


Our client, well positioned in the EdTech space, is looking for a designer, with digital experience across emails, landing pages, and paid social assets, to join their team on a freelance basis starting immediately. Role can be remote, estimated 20 hours/week with flexibility.


Location: Remote (Chicago + CST preferred)

Pay Range: $40-45/hr.

Hours: 20/week (could vary)

Duration: 2 months - could extend


Overview:

Seeking a Freelance Digital Designer to support their internal creative team during a surge of new business and campaign launches. This role provides additional design capacity across deliverables for higher education programs.


This is a strong fit for a designer who enjoys clean, structured digital design work and thrives in an environment where strong typography, attention to detail, and crisp execution are essential.

You’ll work closely with the Creative Director, senior designers, and project managers to execute campaign assets including emails, landing pages, and paid social creative.


Key responsibilities:

  • Design and produce digital marketing assets, including:
  • Email campaigns
  • Landing pages
  • Paid social creative
  • Digital advertising assets
  • Execute design work within established brand systems, style guides, and templates
  • Support internal designers by producing production-ready assets and design variations
  • Ensure designs meet high visual quality standards, including strong typography, layout, and imagery
  • Collaborate with project managers and creative leadership to meet tight timelines and campaign deadlines
  • Manage tasks within the team’s project management platform (Adobe Workfront)
  • Adapt quickly to campaign needs and assist with high-volume production work


What you'll be working on:

The majority of work will focus on digital campaign execution for higher education programs. Designers will typically work from established creative concepts and templates, helping scale campaigns across multiple digital channels.


Projects may include:

  • Email marketing templates and asset variations
  • Landing page designs for academic programs
  • Paid social ad creative
  • Campaign design adaptations across digital channels


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in digital/graphic design, production design, or marketing design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating clean, polished digital design work
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong fundamentals in typography, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience producing email, landing pages, paid social advertising, and marketing assets
  • Ability to work efficiently within established brand guidelines
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with quick turnaround timelines


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education marketing or EdTech
  • Experience in regulated industries (education, finance, healthcare, pharma)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Workfront or similar project management tools
  • Experience with Brightspot CMS or other content management systems
  • Agency experience supporting multiple campaigns or clients


The ideal designer:

  • Enjoys executing clean, well-crafted digital designs
  • Is comfortable working within structured design systems
  • Has strong attention to detail and typography
  • Works efficiently within template-driven production workflows
  • Is collaborative, reliable, and comfortable working with small teams
  • Can jump in quickly and provide immediate design support


Additional details:

  • Fully remote candidates are welcome
  • Chicago-based candidates are a plus but not required
  • Candidates should have their own equipment
  • Schedule is flexible, though availability during Central Time business hours is preferred
