About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to join their Technical Operations team. This role plays a critical part in designing, supporting, and maintaining robust systems infrastructure that powers mission-critical technologies. The Systems Engineer will work closely with clients to assess needs, recommend solutions, and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing systems. This position blends hands-on technical execution with client-facing collaboration and serves as an escalation point for complex system issues, outages, and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, support, and maintain hosted and on-premises systems infrastructure.
- Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to assess infrastructure needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Implement, configure, and manage Azure cloud environments, hybrid networking, and on-prem systems.
- Serve as an escalation point for system outages, performance issues, and change management requests.
- Build, modify, test, and document system configurations and deployments.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and security.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality IT service and project outcomes.
- Provide after-hours support when necessary.
Competencies and Qualifications

- 2-year technical degree or equivalent hands-on work experience.
- Experience troubleshooting Azure AD identity, MFA, and conditional access issues.
- Strong experience with Azure cloud technologies, including:
- Azure Virtual Networks
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- Azure Active Directory
- VPN gateways and hybrid networking configurations
- Solid background in on-premises infrastructure, including:
- Hyper-V clusters
- Windows Server roles
- Integration with cloud services
- Experience with SAN technologies (e.g., NetApp, Nimble, TruStorage).
- Experience managing backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Barracuda, Azure Backup).
- Strong client-facing communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
- Prior experience in an enterprise or MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on moderately complex projects.
- Experience with Microsoft Modern Workplace tools:
