We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Ground Segment Engineer to join our dynamic team at the Galileo Ground Control Centre (GCC). This role will focus on the Galileo GCS-FOC2 and G2IOVGCS projects, which are critical to ensuring the reliable and precise operation of the Galileo system.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

As a Spacecraft Simulator Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, automating, and executing advanced simulation-based tests.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Design and execute manual and automated tests for the CSIM spacecraft simulator.
  • Convert operational procedures into reproducible test scenarios.
  • Support large-scale and worst-case constellation simulations and end-to-end tests.
  • Develop scripts to automate tests and complex operational sequences.
  • Manage simulator state vectors to enable repeatable testing.
  • Monitor system behaviour under stress and identify anomalies.
  • Analyse simulator outputs and support debugging with engineering teams.
  • Improve test coverage, robustness, and usability of the simulator.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We are looking for experts in Ground Segment Engineering with background and interest in tests for spacecraft simulations.

If this position sounds like a perfect fit for you, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Fundamentals of spacecraft systems engineering, AIV, or spacecraft operations.
  • Simulation-based verification and validation principles.
  • Spacecraft operational concepts and procedures.
  • Scripting or programming in at least one high-level language (e.g. JavaScript, Groovy, C++).
  • Ability to read, understand, and debug existing source code.
  • Strong analytical skills for investigating complex technical issue.

We will also value previous experience, and knowledge in:

  • Experience with spacecraft simulators or emulators.
  • Familiarity with mission control and monitoring systems (e.g. SCOS-2000, GCS-CC, SIRIUS, Proteus MCS, Open MCS).
  • Knowledge of SIMULUS or similar simulation frameworks.
  • Exposure to automated testing in safety-critical systems.
  • Experience with large-scale or multi-spacecraft simulation scenario.
