What This Journey Looks Like
As a Systems Administrator at a prominent fintech company in Canada, you will play a vital role in designing, building, planning, automating, administering, and maintaining Systems, Servers, Storage, Cloud, and Infrastructure Applications. Your responsibilities will contribute to ensuring the organization's infrastructure is robust, scalable, reliable, and efficient, both on-premise and in the cloud. This role provides a unique opportunity to be involved in a data center move project and hardware/software refresh, enhancing your skills and expertise in a dynamic environment.
What You'll Lead And Build
- Participate in the migration of VM workloads from old storage/computer to new.
- Engage in planning sessions leading up to migrations, collaborating with app owners and internal support teams.
- Design, install, maintain, upgrade, and administer Microsoft Windows Servers and RedHat Linux in a virtualized environment.
- Contribute to daily operations, including business-as-usual service, Change Requests, Incident Investigation/Remediation, troubleshooting, and monitoring of corporate services
- Maintain information security, premises integrity, and access procedures in line with corporate security policy.
- Provide technical infrastructure support and coordination for escalated incidents and problems.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, including the HR Code of Conduct, Technology Policy, and Privacy Policy.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or a related field of study and/or 3+ years of equivalent IT working experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing/building/automating/administration of Windows Servers or RedHat Servers in physical and virtual environments, with practical experience in security hardening.
- Virtualization experience in an enterprise environment (ESXi, AKV, vCenter, RDMs, Datastore clusters, hardened configuration).
- NAS storage experience (SMB/CIFS, DFS, NFS).
- Strong team player with analytical skills, enabling effective problem-solving and collaboration
- Basic experience with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and firewall configurations.
- Basic experience troubleshooting network connectivity between servers, virtual machines, and infrastructure services.
