Job Description


This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Systems Engineer in the United States.

This role offers a critical opportunity to design, implement, and maintain secure, compliant, and highly available infrastructure that supports both corporate and SaaS operations. The Senior Systems Engineer will ensure reliability, scalability, and regulatory compliance across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments while translating complex technical and business requirements into actionable solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead infrastructure initiatives, and mentor junior staff to promote operational excellence. This position involves proactive management of security, compliance, and performance to support employees and SaaS users, while continuously improving processes and staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Accountabilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing infrastructure for corporate and SaaS environments
  • Implement and manage security controls, compliance frameworks, and zero trust principles to meet NIST, SOC 2, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards
  • Conduct and coordinate penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, and security audits, responding promptly to incidents
  • Develop and optimize automation for infrastructure and security management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant infrastructure deployments
  • Document infrastructure changes, compliance controls, and security best practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing and team development

Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in hybrid cloud and enterprise infrastructure administration, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and associated technologies
  • Proven experience designing and implementing security and compliance frameworks for regulated environments
  • Strong working knowledge of NIST, SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar regulatory standards
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Clear and effective communication skills, capable of collaborating across technical and business teams
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+, CISSP, MCSA, Azure) preferred
