One of our top clients, a well-established company driving digital transformation in one of Japan’s core industries, is currently looking for a Network Engineer to help build and operate the next-generation network infrastructure supporting its large-scale digital transformation initiatives.


A company that has historically worked closely with external vendors has now decided to build its own internal technology organization, covering not only digital initiatives but also infrastructure and security.


As the first step of this transformation, the company has welcomed a new CIO who previously served as Group CIO at a major global enterprise. Together with one of Japan’s top technology leaders, they are currently forming a new “mega-team” to drive the company’s technology strategy and digital transformation.


Responsibilities

As an IT network specialist, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a stable network environment that supports smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate WAN, Internet connections, and wired / wireless LAN networks for office buildings
  • Design, build, and manage data center networks connecting multiple locations
  • Design, build, and operate site-to-site VPN connections that allow external offices and partners to access internal systems
  • Improve network monitoring, visualization, and operational efficiency
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies and network products


The IT department currently consists of approximately 28 members (a mix team with foreigners and Japaneses professionals)

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Business Level of Japanese Language
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, building, operating, and improving corporate networks across multiple locations
  • At least 2 years of experience with Cisco IOS or Cisco NX-OS in network design and operations
  • Strong knowledge of Wireless LAN technologies
  • Experience selecting and contracting WAN and Internet connectivity services
  • Basic knowledge and operational experience with Linux servers
  • Experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously

Employment Type: Full-time

Location: Tokyo (Head Office)

Salary:

  • 7 million JPY + overtime allowance
  • Overtime allowance approximately +500,000 JPY annually

Work Style:

  • Remote work 4 ~ 5 days per week.
