Job Description

Teak is reinventing refunds, striving to make every experience refundable. Our strength lies in our proprietary Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) embedded refund protection platform, which provides massive distribution and a top-tier digital purchasing experience for insurance carriers, event organizers, booking platforms, ticketing systems, and their consumers. Our e-commerce solution is embedded in millions of carts each month, and we're seeking a talented Junior QA Engineer to join our high-performing team.

We're seeking a talented Junior QA Engineer who will effectively fit into an existing team and contribute to project success by ensuring the quality of our technology stack. You will play a crucial part in performing foundational testing tasks under the guidance of senior QA members.

This is an excellent opportunity to establish your presence at a rapidly growing technology company. We support internal growth across our team and encourage learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foundational Documentation and Testing: Ownership of core manual testing tasks, including writing and executing basic manual test cases, performing manual regression testing, and meticulously documenting test execution, bugs, and contributing to process documentation
  • Collaborate with Senior QA Engineers or product owners to create and update test cases in TestRail for new features and releases, aligning test plans with user stories and business requirements
  • Assist with exploratory testing on new and existing features, especially regarding partner site testing
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand the software, identify bugs and document them in the bug tracking system, and ensure that fixes are implemented correctly
  • Communicate test results and findings to stakeholders, providing regular updates on testing progress and issues
  • Learn and experiment with new testing methodologies, automation concepts (e.g., Playwright), and AI-assisted tools for test planning
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies, and QA syncs, providing regular updates on testing progress and issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to think logically and determine test cases from a project description
  • Ability to learn and apply new testing methodologies and tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Basic understanding and ability to write code in TypeScript
  • No formal QA experience is required, but you must be technically curious, eager to learn, and excited to grow

Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with manual testing tools and bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail)
  • Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Experience developing with Python and Typescript
  • Enthusiasm for learning test automation concepts and frameworks (e.g., Playwright)
  • Interest in experimenting with AI tools for test planning and productivity

What We Offer:

  • Fully Remote Working Environment
  • Competitive Salary and Equity Opportunities
  • Unlimited Paid Time-off
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits
  • Annual Bonus Program
  • 401k Matching
  • $100/month for Event Ticket Purchase
  • Company Sponsored Events
