Data Test Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Test Engineer to join a growing data team within a large global organisation. Working with the Senior Architect, you will help design and implement the testing strategy for a Customer Data Platform and BI environment, ensuring data quality across pipelines, warehouses, and reporting.

You’ll collaborate with database architects, developers, administrators, and integration specialists, while developing your skills in SQL and Python.

Key responsibilities include

• Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and strategies for data platforms
• Perform system, integration, functional, and end-to-end testing in Agile sprints
• Write SQL queries to validate and verify data across multiple systems

• Test data ingestion pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Validate Power BI reports for data accuracy and presentation
• Create test cases for ETL mappings and data workflows
• Identify and manage defects using Jira
• Work with flat files, XML, and JSON data sources
• Support data migration between development and production environments

Skills & Experience required

• Experience testing data pipelines, ETL/ELT, and data validation processes
• Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
• Experience with Power BI testing
• Familiarity with Agile development and cloud-based environments
• Hands-on experience with defect management and QA processes
