Job Description
Cybersecurity Software Engineer – AI Research Project
Contract Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Compensation: $60–$70 per hour
We are seeking experienced Software Engineers with a specialization in Cybersecurity to contribute to an advanced AI research initiative focused on improving how intelligent systems analyze and solve real-world software security challenges.
In this role, you will apply your expertise in application security and vulnerability research to help build high‑quality training datasets used to evaluate and strengthen AI model reasoning on complex software engineering tasks.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to the development of next‑generation AI systems while working remotely with a flexible schedule.
You will work on analyzing and annotating AI model solution paths for realistic software engineering tasks derived from open‑source repositories.
Since many AI systems do not expose their internal reasoning processes, the project focuses on reconstructing and documenting the logic behind solution steps. Using your engineering judgment and full task context, you will infer and document the reasoning that leads to vulnerability identification and remediation.
- Design benchmark security tasks based on specific vulnerability classes and difficulty levels
- Build or validate small runnable code environments that demonstrate security flaws
- Verify exploit behavior using scripts and clearly document unsafe system behavior
- Validate security patches that resolve identified vulnerabilities
- Produce structured metadata including severity classification, file locations, and impact analysis
- Document remediation approaches and supporting references
- Conduct quality checks to ensure reproducibility, accuracy of code references, and effectiveness of fixes
