Location: Fully remote, with occasional travel to Leeds

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft Fabric Technical/Data Architect to join a major data transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly capable architect with deep experience across the Microsoft data ecosystem, who has played a key role in data migration programmes, designed scalable data storage structures, and delivered effective presentation and reporting layers for business users.

You will be responsible for shaping and guiding the end-to-end data architecture, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned to business and technical requirements.

The role

As the Microsoft Fabric Technical/Data Architect, you will:

• Lead the design and architecture of data solutions using Microsoft Fabric
• Define and implement scalable data platform, storage, and integration architectures
• Support and lead data migration programmes, including migration from legacy/on-premise or existing cloud platforms into the Microsoft ecosystem
• Design data models and storage structures that support performance, governance, and future scalability
• Oversee the development of presentation layers, reporting structures, and analytics solutions
• Work closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and delivery leads to ensure architectural best practice
• Provide architectural guidance across ingestion, transformation, modelling, semantic layers, and reporting
• Ensure solutions align with security, governance, and data quality standards

We are seeking someone with:

• Proven experience as a Data Architect, Technical Architect, or Solution Architect within the Microsoft ecosystem
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric

• Solid knowledge of data integration, transformation, and modelling best practices
• Experience working with stakeholders across business and technical teams
• Strong architectural documentation and communication skills

Desirable experience

• Azure data platform experience
• Experience with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
• Background in enterprise-scale transformation or modernisation programmes
