AI Engineer (Python, FastAPI, LLMs)

An exciting opportunity for an AI Engineer to join a growing engineering team building modern AI capabilities into a global SaaS platform. This role is ideal for someone passionate about AI, machine learning, and building production-ready systems that directly shape a product used by professionals worldwide.

You will work closely with a small team of engineers to design and build AI pipelines, agent workflows, and scalable architecture, integrating advanced AI features into an established platform.

What you’ll be working with

• Python 3.12 and FastAPI

• PHP 8 and Laravel

• PostgreSQL and MySQL

• Docker and Docker Compose

• Git with CI/CD workflows

• OpenAI and other third party AI / embedding APIs

Key responsibilities

• Build efficient, testable, and reusable Python services using FastAPI

• Design and develop AI pipelines and agent workflows

• Integrate AI capabilities into the core platform using PHP and Laravel

• Optimise data storage, indexing, and query performance for AI features such as vector search

• Maintain high standards of code quality through testing, static analysis, and best practices

• Debug, monitor, and continuously improve system performance

• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver new functionality

Skills and experience

• 2+ years commercial experience with Python and a Python web framework (Django, Flask, etc.)

• Strong understanding of scalable application design and MVC patterns

• Experience working with SQL and relational databases

• Familiarity with large datasets and performance optimisation

• Experience with Git based development workflows

• Understanding of Docker and containerised environments

• Interest or experience working with LLMs, AI tooling, or AI driven product features
