Enterprise Storage Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a remote Enterprise Storage Engineer for a 18 months contract job for a client in Motor Vehicle Manufacturing domain.

Please Note:- Role is remote but it requires travel to Southfield, MI once in a while for meetings.

Pay Rate Range: $50 - $55/hr on w2 (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Schedule - Mon - Fri (8 am -5 pm EST, remote - only travel for meetings once in a while to Southfield, MI)

Position Summary:

The candidate will be responsible for the design and engineering of a globally distributed storage environment.

This person will be part of a cross-functional engineering team which provides design and advanced support of both on-premises and cloud storage solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with advanced support and design of enterprise-level storage solutions within company, including both traditional SAN/NAS and Cloud storage platforms.

Serves as a problem resolution escalation point for the production support and operations teams

Assist infrastructure architects with testing and implementing new technology.

Manages the SAN Fabric and Storage connectivity networks.

Design, Install, configure, and maintain enterprise storage technologies.

Create and maintain system documentation for infrastructure technologies, including installation, configuration, migration and appropriate troubleshooting steps.

Basic Qualifications\Professional Skills:

B.S. degree in a computer science, information technology, computer related discipline or 7+ years IT work experience in a multi-site global infrastructure environment.

Must show a progressive advancement in responsibility including deep troubleshooting technical skills.

Team Player with proven leadership, communication, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated, with keen attention to detail and excellent judgment skills.

Technical Skills\Experience:

7-10+ years of experience focused on SAN and NAS storage platforms.

Hands-on Experience managing multiple storage platforms including Dell Unity, Dell PowerStore and Pure Storage arrays.

Hands-on experience with deployment, data migration and maintenance of AWS File Gateway and/or Nasuni cloud file storage platforms is required.

Must have experience implementing, managing and migrating to cloud storage platforms

Hands-on Experience performing SAN and NAS file storage migrations required.

Experience managing Cisco MDS SAN fabric switches in large data center environments

Strong understanding of datacenter consolidation, IaaS, private cloud, virtualization, assessment and capacity planning technologies and best practices.

Experience in system monitoring tools and techniques for supporting SAN, NAS and Cloud storage platforms

Must have experience managing storage utilization and performance optimization for VMWare, Oracle RAC and SQL workloads.

Must have experience developing, maintaining and executing disaster recovery and business continuity plans relative to storage platforms.

Experience with data life-cycle management and cloud tiering solutions/strategies.

Experience supporting a large global environment required.
