Job Description

A critical position, under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, is responsible for supporting OMC supply chain systems. Operates MMIS including routine functions, trouble shooting, report generation and participates in system improvement. Stays current on system changes and upgrades. Facilitates and contributes to development of electronic ordering systems and other applications. This position provides item master data management and is the gatekeeper for adding and maintaining items in the Lawson Procurement System.

Position will provide data management, analytics, and manages projects from inception to completion. High level communication skills are necessary as this position works with enterprise wide customers and various application vendors. Includes daily problem analysis and identifying efficiencies and documenting them to create procedures. Able to organize, schedule, and execute daily departmental activities involving purchasing system functions and inventory management functions.

Identifies cost savings and/or revenue enhancing projects/initiatives through data analysis and use of the multiple systems available to them. e.g. Spend analysis, benchmarking, etc. May perform analysis such as contract management, group purchasing involvement, and vendor relations. Analyzes and identifies inventory cost containment and quality improvement opportunities. May conduct other core supply chain activities such as value analysis, contract review, support product evaluations, and act as supply chain liaison to the manufacturer/vendor community.

EDUCATION

  • Associate degree or higher required.

Experience

  • 3 – 5 years of functional supply chain exposure and knowledge required.
  • Intermediate Excel skill level required.
  • Experience with identifying efficiencies and documenting them to create procedures required.
  • Experience providing end-user training and work with end-users across departments required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and Windows Environment required.
  • Demonstrated success working independently, performing above expectations, and meeting standards of professional conduct and behavior required.

LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS

  • CMRP (Certified Materials Resource Professional) preferred.
