Ellington Microfinance Bank is looking for a seasoned Senior Mobile Developer with over 6 years of experience to join our team on a high-impact, milestone-based contract. We are seeking a professional who thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment and is committed to maintaining our effortless banking standards.
The Role
You will be responsible for building and deploying critical banking features. This is a fully remote position. You will report directly to Product Leadership, ensuring that our mobile infrastructure remains robust, secure, and user-friendly.
What You’ll Do
- Architect & Scale: Lead the development of our flagship React Native application, ensuring high performance and 99.9% crash-free sessions.
- Security First: Implement best-in-class security protocols (biometrics, certificate pinning, and secure storage) to protect user assets.
- Collaborate: Work closely with Product and Design to translate complex banking workflows into intuitive mobile journeys.

Qualifications
- Experience: 6+ years of professional mobile development experience, preferably within the Fintech or Banking sectors. Must have deployed multiple applications to play store and app store.
- Education/Conduct: Must demonstrate high ethical standards regarding customer data integrity and professional conduct.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive problem-solving ethic is essential, especially when managing third-party API dependencies.
- Performance Obsessed: You know your way around the React Native bridge and can optimise rendering for low-end devices.
- Leadership: You can articulate technical debt to non-technical stakeholders and advocate for the right architectural path.
- AI: You must be able to use AI tools such as chatgpt, copilot to increase your productivity
