For our client, a global consulting and professional services company operating in the areas of risk, insurance, HR and data analytics, we are currently looking for Candidates for the position of Senior Power BI Developer.




Work mode: 100% remote from Poland

Compensation: up to 200 PLN/h net

Contract type: B2B via Hays

Start Date: ASAP

Cooperation: 6‑month contract with possible extensions

Experience: min. 7 years

Language: English C1 (global team)




Position Overview:


We are looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Developer (Executive & Time Series Reporting) with deep expertise in time‑bound, longitudinal, and complex datasets to design and deliver executive‑ready dashboards about Artificial Intelligence. These dashboards should enable both high‑level decision‑making and intuitive drill‑down into operational details. This role works closely with senior leaders, data owners, and analysts to translate evolving business questions into scalable, high‑performance Power BI solutions.


The ideal candidate is equally strong in data modeling, DAX, and storytelling, and understands how executives consume insights versus how practitioners explore data. It is important that candidates have excellent communication skills, especially when working with executive stakeholders, and can operate in a fast‑paced environment with a large team (including other developers).




Responsibilities:


  • Design and maintain executive dashboards that present clear, concise performance narratives while enabling controlled drill‑down into underlying drivers
  • Translate ambiguous or evolving leadership questions into clear metrics, trends, and visual stories
  • Ensure reporting supports time‑based analysis (e.g., YoY, QoQ, rolling periods, cohort views, trend decomposition)
  • Build and optimize robust semantic models that handle:
  • time series, snapshots, slowly changing dimensions, historical restatements
  • multiple calendars (fiscal, calendar, custom reporting periods)
  • versioned or point‑in‑time data for accurate historical reporting
  • Implement advanced DAX measures for cumulative totals, rolling averages, period comparisons, and conditional logic
  • Create intuitive drill‑through paths, tooltips, and decomposition trees that allow users to move seamlessly from executive summary to operational detail
  • Balance performance and usability to ensure dashboards remain responsive at scale
  • Apply strong data visualization principles to avoid misinterpretation of trends or time‑based patterns




Key Requirements:


  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with hands‑on Power BI development, data integration, and executive reporting within a complex organization.


Technical Skills:

  • Advanced experience with Power BI (Desktop & Service)
  • Strong proficiency in DAX, especially time intelligence and complex calculations
  • Deep understanding of data modeling for analytics (star schemas, fact/dimension design)
  • Experience working with large, complex, and time variant datasets
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational data sources


Analytical & Design Skills:

  • Proven ability to design executive level reporting that balances simplicity with depth
  • Strong data visualization and storytelling skills, especially for trend-based insights
  • Ability to reason through edge cases such as partial periods, data backfills, and restated history


Ways of Working:

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and iterating as business questions evolve
  • Strong communication skills – able to explain complex logic to non-technical stakeholders
  • Detail oriented, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and repeatability
