Software Engineer- Java
Salary: $150-170k DOE
Location: 100% remote, however you must be local to Frederick, MD as we do have onsite meetings here and there.
Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance in the future.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Java and Microservices architecture, with experience in Cloud environments and cloud-native frameworks. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products that meet business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications using Java and Microservices architecture.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement cloud-native solutions using modern cloud platforms and frameworks.
- Lead code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
- Ensure software quality through comprehensive testing and continuous integration practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure optimal application performance.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance software development practices.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Java, and Microservices.
- Proven experience with Cloud platforms and cloud-native frameworks (AWS, Azure, or government).
- Full stack experience with Angular is preferred.
- Messaging with Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Grafana.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, and Jira.
- Experience with SpringBoot, JSON, XML, and REST Services.
- Knowledge of Entity Frameworks and Department of Defense (DoD) standards is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
