We’re hiring Senior Data Engineers to join a leading South African data consultancy delivering advanced data platforms for a US-based fintech client in the equity markets space.

You’ll help design and build scalable pipelines, cloud-native data platforms, and analytics infrastructure powering real financial intelligence.

WHAT YOU WILL BE BUILDING

• Scalable data platforms supporting fintech analytics and market intelligence
• High-performance data pipelines processing large volumes of financial data
• Distributed data processing frameworks using PySpark and modern data stacks
• Cloud-native data platforms across Azure and AWS environments
• API-driven data ingestion and integration frameworks in cloud ecosystems
• Modern data warehouses and lakehouse architectures using platforms like Snowflake and Databricks

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• You’ll design and build scalable data pipelines and distributed processing frameworks
• You’ll develop and optimise data transformations using Python, SQL, and PySpark
• You’ll integrate multiple enterprise data sources through cloud-based APIs and ingestion pipelines
• You’ll contribute to the design and architecture of modern data platforms

• You’ll collaborate directly with client stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable solutions
• You’ll optimise performance, reliability, and scalability of cloud data platforms

OUR REQUIRED EXPERTISE

Technical Expertise

• 5–10+ years of Data Engineering experience
• Strong experience with Python and SQL for data engineering
• Experience working with PySpark and distributed data processing frameworks
• Experience building modern ELT/ETL pipelines
• Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS)
• Experience integrating and managing API-driven data pipelines in cloud environments
• Experience designing and operating enterprise-scale data warehouses or lakehouse platforms
• Exposure to analytics ecosystems such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
• Experience in financial services, fintech, or data consultancy environments is advantageous.

Problem-Solving & Ownership

• Able to design and build scalable data platforms solving complex business problems
• Comfortable working with large, distributed datasets and high-performance pipelines

YOUR REWARD

• Contract: 12-month rolling contract (full-time, fixed term)
• Rate: R900 – R950 per hour
• Location: Remote anywhere in South Africa
