Role Overview

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality software solutions by designing and implementing robust testing frameworks, driving automation, and ensuring effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. You will lead testing initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and proactively contribute to operational excellence and financial efficiency in the QA process.

Key Responsibilities

• Payments Domain: Strong understanding of payment systems, transaction processing, and financial messaging standards.
• Production Support Testing: Validate fixes and patches for production issues; perform sanity and regression testing in support cycles.
• Log Analysis & Troubleshooting: Analyze application logs, database records, and message flows to verify issue resolution and identify test gaps.
• Unix/Linux Proficiency: Strong command over Unix/Linux environments; ability to navigate logs, execute scripts, and validate deployments.
• API Testing: Execute functional, regression, and integration testing of RESTful APIs using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
• Database Validation: Validate data integrity and consistency across RDBMS and NoSQL databases (Cassandra); verify caching behavior in Redis/Keydb; write queries for test validation.

• Kafka Testing: Test and validate Kafka-based message flows; verify producer/consumer behavior and end-to-end data integrity in production-like scenarios.
• Test Automation: Maintain and enhance automated test suites; ensure automation coverage for critical support scenarios and regression packs.
• Defect Management: Log defects with clear reproduction steps; verify fixes and track resolution through to closure.
• Incident Management: Familiarity with incident management processes (ITIL); coordinate with support teams during critical incidents for rapid test validation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, support teams, and operations to validate fixes and ensure production stability.
• Documentation: Maintain test cases, troubleshooting checklists, and support-specific test documentation.
• SDLC & Process Adherence: Follow established QA and support processes, change management procedures, and release protocols.
