Axiom is hiring a Head of AI for a pioneering AI organisation.


The role will lead an ambitious research mission at the intersection of advanced machine learning and breakthrough physics. This is a rare opportunity to own a full AI research agenda and build a world-class technical team from the ground up, shaping the direction of cutting-edge research and innovation.

What We’re Hiring

You will lead the AI research and engineering agenda, shaping architecture, modelling, and technical direction across large-scale systems. The ideal background includes:


  • Led major projects at frontier AI organisations (e.g., OpenAI, DeepMind, Anthropic, Meta AI).
  • Deep expertise in modern ML: foundation models, RL (PPO/SAC, self-play), large-scale optimisation.
  • Hands-on with distributed training, CUDA/NCCL, and advanced infrastructure.
  • Strong physics, maths, or hard science background, ideally with recent transition to AI.
  • Experienced in building and managing high-performing research or engineering teams, collaborating across disciplines.


Nice-to-have experience includes physics-informed neural networks, differentiable simulations, scientific ML, or integrating models with complex simulation environments.
