About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic, remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure solutions primarily on AWS. Your expertise will drive the automation of deployment pipelines, optimize infrastructure management, and ensure the reliability and security of our SaaS products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud architecture, DevOps best practices, and modern tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps methodologies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to own significant projects from conception to deployment, working in a fast-paced startup environment that values innovation and solutions-oriented thinking.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud engineering with proven experience in AWS environments. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of infrastructure as code, container orchestration, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields, along with professional certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect. Hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, EKS, Octopus Deploy (or similar tools), and Argo CD is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Startup experience and familiarity with SaaS products are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will include designing and implementing scalable cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. You will develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools, including Argo CD and Octopus Deploy, to streamline software releases. Managing container orchestration with Kubernetes and EKS will be a key aspect of your role, along with implementing GitOps practices for infrastructure management. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize system performance. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of best practices around infrastructure security, cost management, and disaster recovery strategies. Your role will also involve mentoring junior team members, documenting processes, and continuously staying updated with the latest cloud and DevOps innovations.
