Job Description


JOB TITLE: Quality General Manager

The Quality General Manager is responsible for maintaining the quality control and quality assurance objectives and for coordinating these objectives with other managers. To perform the position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Responsibilites

  • Supervise and direct the activities of the Quality Engineering Team.
  • Lead and participate in the analysis of statistical data and product specifications to formulate standards.
  • Administer and support internal and external problem-solving activities.
  • Meet periodically with other area managers to review issues and eliminate recurrence.
  • Monitors training levels and effectiveness of department personnel for adequacy.
  • Plan, promote, and organize training activities related to quality and reliability. Support technical training initiatives through one-on-one and group sessions.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
  • Attend and lead meetings as required.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or at least 10 years of equivalent experience in a Tier-1 manufacturing industry.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and influence people across all functional areas.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and be self-starting on tasks within area of expertise.
  • In-depth understanding of safe workplace practices and programs.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the public.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Problem-solving involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Business travel may be necessary.
