Industrial Engineer

Job Summary

· Provide administrative and technical support to the Assistant Industrial Engineering Manager and above.

· Provide support on 6S.

· Provide support to meet IE KPIs.

· Plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to maintain and improve operation.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng) in Industrial Engineering or equivalent, with 2-5 years of working experience

· Open location based at Penang (Bayan Lepas and Batu Kawan)

Job Description

Core

· Develop new line configuration proposals and implement them.

· Maintain capacity model for backend assembly with bottleneck identification.

· Prepare IE quotes when required.

· Coordinate layout, workstation, and conveyor moves and setup activities.

· Prepare Gantt charts and budgets for project implementation.

· Reduce manual assembly scrap by monitoring quality data and taking preventive measures.

· Recommend methods for throughput improvement, efficiency, and waste elimination through enhancements in tooling, processing equipment, and work methods.

· Monitor operations to improve productivity and efficiency.

· Design efficient production processes and workflows.

· Ensure processes are designed to meet product quality standards.

· Reduce waste and resolve production issues.

· Review production schedules, processes, and specifications.

· Evaluate data to implement technological improvements in production processes.

· Implement controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues.

· Identify potential locations and determine facility design.

· Collaborate with other departments to develop design and production standards.

· Prepare inventory analysis and procurement purchase orders to support production needs.

· Design facility layout and personnel requirements related to production operations.

· Ensure work processes are safe and address any safety issues or concerns.

· Generate process documentation and reports.

Support Group

· Monitor and continuously improve the daily efficiency, productivity, and quality of manufacturing processes for assigned areas.

· Improve safety and throughput by modifying tooling, processing equipment, and workstations.

· Coordinate layout, workstation, and conveyor setup or relocation activities. Prepare Gantt chart and budget for implementation.

· Participate in 7 Steps program for continuous improvement.

· Standardize material handling systems, storage systems, and workstations.

· Ensure all engineers participate in plant-wide quality programs: ESD, EHS, etc.

· Ensure the Master Layout is maintained.

· Ensure surplus gears are maintained.

· Work with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations.

· Serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) in areas as required.

HLA Product

· Develop process assembly steps from cradle to grave for the product assembly.

· Develop or reproduce packaging with suppliers according to customer specifications, including ESD materials when required.

· Perform BOM analysis for different levels and assigned AVLs.

· Define, implement, and document processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment for manufacturing.

· Develop WI/VA/PCF/FORM/FMEA per ISO9002 requirements.

· Continuously improve VA generation flow.

· Define and document process quality measurement methods and systems; monitor results for process control and improvement.

· Define product form, fit, and function at component or higher-level assemblies as per specifications.

· Provide initial training to manufacturing and training personnel.

· Provide technical assistance and direction to process technicians and engineers.

· Provide bid inputs for engineering support estimates, assumptions, standard times, NRE, and equipment needs.

· Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturing) input for applicable projects.

· Interface with customers (as requested by Workcell/Business Unit Manager) to understand technical requirements.

· Report technical project status to Jabil management and customers periodically.

· Travel internationally and domestically as required.

· Support piece-part assembly specification reviews.

· Adapt and apply advanced manufacturing technologies.

· Provide continuous improvement solutions to the assigned workcell.

· Adhere to all safety and health regulations as directed by self or supervisor.
