Senior Automation Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 6-8 years.

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for a skilled Senior Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Robot Framework and Python to build and maintain enterprise-grade automation solutions. This role also involves migrating existing UiPath automations to open-source frameworks.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain automation solutions using Robot Framework
• Build reusable and modular keyword libraries using Python and resource files

• Analyze existing UiPath workflows and redesign/rebuild them in Robot Framework
• Implement robust logging, exception handling, retry mechanisms, and reporting
• Develop automations across web, desktop, APIs, files, Excel, and email processes
• Perform code reviews and enforce automation standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement fixes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for smooth delivery and releases
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and support guides

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong hands-on experience with Robot Framework (open-source)

• Proficiency in Python for custom keyword and utility development
• Experience in web automation (selectors, waits, dynamic UI handling)
• Experience with API automation (REST/SOAP, JSON, XML)
• Strong knowledge of logging, exception handling, and retry mechanisms
• Working knowledge of UiPath Studio and automation concepts
• Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
• Ownership of end-to-end automation delivery and stability
• Ability to work independently and in collaborative environments
• Passion for building scalable and maintainable automation solutions
