About The Role

The QA Automation Engineer at e123 plays a critical role within our engineering team, focusing on developing and executing test strategies for our web applications and REST APIs. This position involves designing, building, and maintaining automated test suites to ensure product quality and reliability. The successful candidate will define testing approaches across various types, including unit, integration, end-to-end (E2E), and API testing, with a strong emphasis on advocating for quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

You will collaborate closely with product managers and developers in an agile environment, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines to monitor stability and coverage continuously. Your expertise will help improve testability, API contract adherence, and acceptance criteria, contributing to a culture of quality and automation excellence. Documentation of test strategies, patterns, and handling of flaky tests will be essential for maintaining clarity and consistency within the team. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the US, excluding Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska, providing flexibility and a chance to be part of a forward-thinking, innovative organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar tools for cross-browser E2E testing
  • Proficiency with Jest or comparable JavaScript/TypeScript testing frameworks for unit and integration testing
  • Experience with Postman collections, environments, and CI integration for API testing
  • Knowledge of OpenAPI specifications and contract testing methodologies
  • Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and analyzing results
  • Familiarity with modern testing patterns such as Page Object models, data-driven testing, parallel execution, and comprehensive reporting
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience with JIRA or similar ticketing systems (preferred)
  • Experience utilizing AI tools like Cursor or Copilot for test authoring or maintenance (preferred)

  • Conduct code reviews and contribute to maintaining high-quality code and test documentation
  • Proactively identify testing gaps and propose solutions to improve overall product quality
  • Stay updated with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and best practices to continuously enhance testing processes
