Job Description
Company Description:
Dharma is a Norwegian nonprofit that funds training for women in developing countries. We don't run programmes ourselves - we find local partners who already know what works and fund what they need. Right now, 20 women in Kolkata are learning to tailor and earn independently. We're volunteer-run, transparent, and our first core value is Joy. If that sounds like your kind of organisation, keep reading.
Role Description:
We need someone who can make people care about 20 women learning to sew in Kolkata. Not through guilt. Through good stories, honest content, and the occasional post that makes someone stop scrolling.
You'd be running our social media. That means figuring out what to post, when to post it, and making it look good enough that people actually engage. We have real stories, real photos from the ground, and a founder who writes blog posts at 11pm on Tuesdays. The raw material is there. We need someone who can turn it into a social presence that grows our community and drives donations.
This is a volunteer role, fully remote. We're a small team that communicates casually and moves at a pace that respects everyone's time. Expect 3-5 hours a week, not 30.
What you'd actually do:
Interested in remote work opportunities in Marketing & Sale? Discover Marketing & Sale Remote Jobs featuring exclusive positions from top companies that offer flexible work arrangements.
- Build and run our social media content calendar across Instagram, LinkedIn, and whatever else makes sense
- Turn project updates, blog posts, and ground-level photos into content people want to share
- Track what works and what doesn't, then trusting yourself enough to adjust along the way.
- Help us figure out the right voice for each platform (our blog voice is strong (or so we think) and to be honest, our SoMe needs work)
- Coordinate with the team (Lisa and myself) on campaign timing around fundraising pushes
What we're looking for:
- You know how social media actually works, not just how to schedule posts
- You can write in a voice that's warm, direct, and not remotely corporate
- You've made content that people engaged with (show us, we don't care where it was posted)
- You can work independently without someone checking in every day
- You give a damn about the work, not just the portfolio piece
Browse our curated collection of remote jobs across all categories and industries, featuring positions from top companies worldwide.
Nice to have but not required:
- Experience with nonprofit or cause-based content
- Basic design skills (Canva level is fine)
- Familiarity with Buffer or similar scheduling tools
What you get:
Honest experience running social for a real organisation. A team that trusts you to make decisions. Content that actually matters. And the satisfaction of knowing that a post you made might be the reason someone donates €160 and changes a woman's life.
