Job Description

About Syncio

Syncio is on a mission to make commerce collaborative, empowering merchants, entrepreneurs, and creators to grow together. Today, over 15,000 merchants from 100 countries use Syncio to sync inventory across their expansion stores, retail partners, and marketplaces. We believe that collaboration is at the heart of commerce, shareable inventory supercharges collaboration, and ultimately creates a more egalitarian world.

We’re a high-growth scale-up (Deloitte Tech Fast50 Rising Stars 2021) that’s bootstrapped. We help thousands of merchants globally yet are still a really small team. You’ll be in the first 15 employees at Syncio. For sheer potential impact, opportunity, and growth, it doesn’t get much better than this role.

The Role

Syncio is looking for a Product Designer to join our team and play a key role in shaping not just exceptionally usable software, but the future of collaborative commerce.

Design is part of the Syncio DNA. We view design as a prerequisite to product management, meaning this role will have an outsized influence across growth, customer experience, and the product itself. You will own all aspects of the product lifecycle, from discovery and ideation to pixel-perfect execution and post-implementation analysis.

We are looking for a designer with solid fundamentals and a "get-it-done" attitude. While you will work closely with the Design Lead for constructive feedback and peer support, we expect you to take full ownership of your projects, dive into the details, and get your hands dirty.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive designer with 2-3 years of experience (or equivalent growth mindset) who wants to grow beyond "drawing screens" into a holistic product thinker capable of driving real business impact.

What you'll do

  • Drive the Full Product Lifecycle: Lead the entire design process, from gathering user pain points to post-launch iteration.
  • Transform Ambiguity into Clarity: Partner with the Founder, Product, CX, and Growth teams to translate vague feedback into solid problem statements and well-scoped user stories.
  • Balance Ideal and Pragmatic Approaches: Explore bold, 'ideal' solutions first to push the boundaries of what’s possible, then collaborate with engineering to make them a reality.
  • Own the Final Experience: Deliver detailed specs including all edge cases and responsive states. Your job isn't done until the user experiences the value in production.
  • Design Advocacy: Raise the team’s "Design IQ" by improving internal processes, organisation, and the overall design practice at Syncio.
  • Agile Execution: Work in highly cross-functional teams and be ready to jump into any role to help the team execute and deliver on our ambitious roadmap.

Who we're looking for

  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in product design

Core skills

  • Visual Craft: As the guardian of visual quality in our team, you deliver exceptional craft in typography and layout to ensure a professional, high-fidelity experience.
  • Logical Reasoning: Ability to articulate design decisions through logic, constraints, and trade-offs.
  • Product Thinking: Strong understanding of complex systems, including roles, permissions, and scalability.
  • Technical Literacy: Deep understanding of web patterns and a basic grasp of frontend engineering to ensure feasible designs.
  • Data Literacy: Ability to synthesise qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics to drive iterations.

Working styles

  • Extreme Ownership: A "no-task-is-too-small" mindset. You don't wait for instructions; you find what needs to be done.
  • Resilient Communicator: Receptive to feedback and able to handle disagreements logically and professionally without being defensive.
  • Pragmatic Execution: Ability to prioritise effectively and remain flexible about processes to meet business goals.
  • Thrives in Ambiguity: You enjoy the challenge of turning chaos into order. Instead of waiting for a playbook, you take initiative to suggest and build the systems we need.
  • Proactive Learner: A high learning speed for complex domains (B2B/SaaS) and an active interest in emerging technologies like AI.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in or a strong interest in B2B SaaS and E-commerce ecosystems.
  • Experience building or maintaining design systems.

Why join Syncio

We are building the next frontier of commerce; a new category called Collaborative Commerce. We believe that the best type of commerce is through collaboration, and this has been demonstrated through the history of civilisation. Think bazaars, marketplaces, even the ancient Silk Road. We believe that we can enable collaboration in ways unimaginable.

Syncio enables collaboration by making the basic building blocks of commerce shareable across webstores. Think inventory, orders, product attributes, all the key information required for retail to operate. Syncio enables merchants to create its own micro-marketplaces, become a super-distributor, expand globally, etc.

To give you a sense of Syncio’s impact, in 2025, over 110M orders worth US$8.9 Bn in GMV were synced across the Syncio network. And that was 2025! We’re gearing up to make an even bigger impact in 2026.

Internally, we’re fully independent and bootstrapped, so we’re all-in on our team and customers, and not distracted by a board and investors. We believe this creates an ideal environment for you to do your best work yet. Syncio has the high ambition, high ceiling for you to grow in, but without the distractions that take you away from delivering exceptional work that makes a difference to your colleagues, customers, and the product.

How we do it

We have an internal culture memo called ‘The Way of the Synconaut’. We believe that in the work that we do, the best can be 10x better than the average. That’s what we’re all striving for at Syncio.

You’ll be joining a team that is serious about growth; as a team and as individuals. We do this to best cater to the thousands of merchants globally that we are privileged to help in their operations.

Syncio is a flat organisation that is remote-first. Everyone is empowered to make decisions; where prioritisation and risk management are honed in the Syncio environment. Self-improvement is mandatory.

Our environment is ripe for ‘T-shaped employees’ to thrive. So much so that if your Syncio journey ends, we expect you to have learned enough to start a company yourself!

Benefits

  • You’ll receive a competitive salary and be eligible to partake in our employee-share-options-plan (ESOP).
  • Regular social activities such as TedxSyncio talks, games, and team events.
  • You get 4 weeks of paid vacation, flexibility to take extra unpaid leave, 12 ‘wellness days’ per year, and flexible working hours. We’re all about getting the work done, not just clocking time.
  • We are a fully distributed (fully remote) company. Work where it works for you.

Syncio is an equal-opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran, or disability status.

We’re excited and grateful for your interest and application. This role is life-changing because we do things that impact us personally and globally. Strap on and enjoy the ride!
