Front-End Developer for Contract Position

The Planet Group has partnered with a west coast based company to locate a Front-End Developer for a contract position.

The ideal candidate must be willing to overlap with Pacific Standard Hours (PST) and cannot require any type of sponsorship to work in the US.

This is a fully remote contract role working within a large-scale application environment, focused on developing data-driven UI and dashboard-style tools. The ideal candidate is strong in frontend fundamentals and comfortable working in evolving codebases while delivering features quickly.

Responsibilities:

• Build and enhance frontend features for internal moderation tools, including dashboards, queues, and workflow interfaces
• Work from tickets through development, testing, and deployment in a fast-paced product environment
• Collaborate with backend and mobile engineers to integrate APIs and deliver end-to-end functionality
• Develop UI components using TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React or similar)

• Contribute to improving frontend architecture, performance, and maintainability
• Help transition features from legacy systems into modern frontend patterns
• Optimize performance for data-heavy interfaces, including large lists, queues, and real-time updates
• Participate in code reviews and follow best practices around testing, linting, and CI/CD

Required Skills/Experience:

• 3–5+ years of experience building frontend applications using JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong experience with React (or similar frameworks such as Vue/Svelte)
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, accessibility, and responsive design

• Experience working with GraphQL and/or REST APIs
• Comfortable working in large, evolving codebases and improving existing systems
• Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and communicate progress in a remote environment

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience building internal tools, dashboards, or admin interfaces
• Exposure to web components (Lit or similar)
• Experience optimizing performance for data-heavy applications
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices and frontend testing
