Job Description
The Problem Worth Solving
Every day, pet owners walk out of a vet's office having just said no to a treatment their pet needed โ not because they didn't care, but because they couldn't afford it. That's the problem Pawlicy Advisor exists to eliminate.
We're a venture-backed startup building the infrastructure that connects pet owners to the right financial protection for their pets, starting with the most trusted pet insurance marketplace in the US. Pawlicy partners with thousands of veterinary practices nationwide, providing personalized, breed-specific insurance guidance directly at the point of care. delivered over 1 million unique quotes, and is responsible for a meaningful percentage of all pet insurance sold in the US, with thousands of vets relying on Pawlicy daily. Pawlicy has raised $19M+ and is growing fast. Pawlicy has found product-market fit and now is scaling.
The Role
Location: New York City - remote currently. Only applicants from the NYC area will be considered.
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager who is looking to drive real business value quickly. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role on a lean, sharp team: a Head of Product and Growth, a Director of Engineering, five strong engineers, a senior product designer, and a data analyst. You'll set the product roadmap, drive it through the organization, and be accountable for the outcomes that matter most โ conversion, revenue, and user experience.
If you do your best work when you have real autonomy, thrive on hard tradeoffs, and find deeply understanding users as energizing as shipping to them, this role is great for you.
What You'll Own
- The product roadmap. You'll set it, communicate it, and defend it alongside the Head of Product and Growth
- Conversion and growth. You'll own the metrics that move the business: conversion rate, revenue per visitor, NPS
- A/B testing, end-to-end. From hypothesis to implementation to post-analysis. You'll run rigorous experiments, interpret the results honestly, and know when to iterate vs. when to move on
- The backlog. You'll ruthlessly prioritize, consistently refine, and keep engineering focused on work that matters
- Domain expertise. You'll go deep on pet insurance, veterinary workflows, and our B2B2C ecosystem until you know our users' pain points better than anyone
- Cross-functional alignment. You'll work closely with engineering, data, marketing, and leadership โ cutting through ambiguity to keep everyone moving in the same direction
What We're Looking For
- 5-7 years of product management experience, ideally in a Series B startup or similarly fast-moving environment
- A proven track record of shipping 0โ1 products โ you've built things from scratch and you know what that actually takes
- Experience optimizing conversion in a B2B2C platform or marketplace โ you understand the funnel, the levers, and how to move them
- Deep fluency with A/B testing โ not just running tests, but designing them well and extracting real signal from results
- A genuine love of user research โ you're the kind of PM who actually talks to users, a lot, and lets those conversations change your mind
- The confidence to push back, disagree, and realign without it becoming political โ you're direct, but you bring people along
- Strong opinions, loosely held โ you have a clear point of view on how to solve user problems, and you're not precious about it
- Location: New York City. This role is currently fully remote, with plans to transition to a hybrid schedule as we accelerate our growth and open our Midtown Manhattan office in 2027. At that time, we will require New York team members to attend the office 4 days per week
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship required
- Bonus: You love animals and believe pet healthcare is a serious, underserved problem. We'll hire you for your craft, but passion for the mission makes everything better
