About The Role

We are seeking a talented Frontend Developer specializing in React and Redux to join our dynamic, cross-functional team. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing VA.gov by designing and developing user interface components that are both functional and user-friendly. You will work closely with various departments to coordinate development efforts, ensuring timely and efficient rollout of impactful features. This position is fully remote within the Continental United States and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to federal government projects while working in a flexible environment. Please note that this position is currently unfunded and contingent upon contract award, emphasizing the importance of adaptability and proactive engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5 to 8 years of relevant professional experience in frontend development
• Proven expertise in React.js and Redux development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience collaborating effectively within development teams
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum processes
• Advanced understanding of the software development lifecycle
• Experience with AWS cloud services and testing methodologies, including unit and end-to-end testing
• Proficiency with version control systems such as GitHub and project management tools like Jira and Confluence
• Experience working remotely in a disciplined and productive manner
• U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States
  
  

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Experience working with the VA or other federal agencies, with knowledge of federal regulations
• Familiarity with VA.gov platform and its features
• Knowledge of AWS and managing web hosting environments
• Experience handling RESTful API transactions within federal networks
• Expertise in system integrations, particularly with systems like CorpDB, MPI, VA.gov, and VBMS
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance
  
  

Responsibilities

• Design and develop user interface components using React.js and Redux, ensuring seamless integration with REST/SOAP APIs and web services
• Participate in system planning, development, and testing to ensure compliance with software standards and protocols
• Oversee frontend development activities, create user guidelines, and conduct system analysis to clarify program requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and high-quality deliverables
• Mentor junior team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices across the development team
• Gather user requirements, develop user stories, and assist in planning project timelines
• Prepare detailed documentation and reports to facilitate clear communication among stakeholders
• Lead integration testing efforts to verify system functionality and robustness
