Senior BA/QA Lead

Location: 100% Remote (U.S.)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Clearance Requirement: Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior BA/QA Lead to serve as the right hand to the Project Manager, acting as their eyes and ears across Business Analysis and Quality Assurance workstreams within a federal project environment.

This role is responsible for leading and coordinating BA and QA teams, ensuring deliverables meet expectations, and maintaining alignment with project scope, schedule, and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on functional lead who can drive execution, enforce accountability, and proactively identify and escalate risks while supporting overall project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight & PM Support

• Serve as the PM’s delegate and proxy for BA/QA workstream execution
• Act as the central point of coordination across BA and QA teams
• Track progress, risks, dependencies, and issues; provide clear, timely escalation
• Support project planning, status reporting, dashboards, and documentation
• Ensure deliverables align with scope, timeline, and federal compliance requirements

Business Analysis Leadership

• Lead and coordinate a team of Business Analysts, ensuring consistency and quality of deliverables

• Review and approve requirements, user stories, process flows, and documentation artifacts
• Ensure requirements are complete, testable, and traceable
• Facilitate stakeholder discussions and resolve gaps or ambiguities in requirements
• Drive alignment between business needs and technical execution

Quality Assurance Leadership (Hands-On)

• Oversee QA activities including test strategy, planning, and execution oversight
• Review and validate test cases, defect logs, and test coverage
• Ensure end-to-end traceability from requirements through testing and release
• Support and coordinate UAT activities and enforce quality gates
• Provide hands-on support in QA efforts as needed

Team Coordination & Accountability

• Coordinate and manage BA and QA workloads, priorities, and deliverables
• Ensure teams are meeting expectations, timelines, and quality standards
• Identify gaps in performance, process, or delivery and drive resolution
• Promote best practices across documentation, testing, and delivery governance
• Foster strong collaboration across cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis and/or Quality Assurance on IT projects
• Federal/government project experience required
• Proven experience leading or coordinating BA and/or QA teams
• Strong experience acting as PM support or delivery lead (PM right-hand)
• Hands-on experience with QA processes (test planning, execution, defect management)
• Expertise in requirements analysis, validation, and traceability
• Experience with status reporting, metrics, and stakeholder communication
• Experience working in Agile and/or hybrid SDLC environments
• Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal clients in a consulting or contracting environment
• Familiarity with RAID management, dependency tracking, and delivery metrics
• Experience working across multiple teams or workstreams simultaneously
