We are looking for a QA Engineer (Functional & Automation) with a strong functional mindset and the ability to gradually expand and strengthen automation in our testing processes. You will validate new features manually while helping define and implement scalable, reliable test automation over time : all while supporting our mission: making life easier for travelers.


We're seeking someone detail-oriented, with good analytical skills and a solid understanding of quality assurance practices. You’ll work closely with developers, product owners, and other QA profiles to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

You will join an established QA team with both functional and automation profiles. As part of a cross-functional squad, your work will combine day-to-day testing with longer-term improvements in test strategy and tooling, offering opportunities to deepen your skills in both areas.

Mission:

Ensure high product quality through effective manual testing and the progressive adoption of automated tests. Help build a solid testing foundation that balances fast delivery with risk-based validation.


Key activities / responsibilities to perform:

  • Analyse acceptance criteria, design and maintain test cases in Gherkin.
  • Execute manual and automated tests (Web/API) using Playwright, log results and report defects.
  • Prioritize and coordinate delivery validation with the development and product teams.
  • Design and progressively implement automated tests, starting with Web/API and evolving toward mobile.
  • Contribute to the evolution of testing frameworks and strategies within the team.
  • Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with the technical team.
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and propose actionable improvements to processes and tools.


Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • ISTQB Foundations certification or equivalent.
  • +2 years of relevant work experience as QA Engineer, including manual validation of complex functionalities.
  • Experience designing and executing functional test cases.
  • Practical knowledge of Gherkin and acceptance criteria-based testing.
  • Experience developing automated tests using Playwright (or similar tools such as Cypress) with TypeScript, covering both UI and API testing.
  • Practical experience with Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews).
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools in the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
  • Knowledge of test management tools such as Xray.
  • Understanding of REST API concepts (HTTP methods, status codes, request/response validation) and experience applying them in automated API tests.


Key Skills

  • Interest or initial experience in mobile app test automation (e.g., Appium). We're looking to grow in this area, so willingness to learn and contribute is valued.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical profiles.
  • Ability to organize tasks independently and validate deliveries with sound judgment.
  • Analytical thinking, risk awareness, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in Agile teams and multidisciplinary squads.
  • Proactive mindset toward identifying quality risks and proposing improvements to testing processes.


Practical info:

  • Schedule: Full Time.
  • Flexible hours 7.5 hours a day).
  • 100% Remote (we have a very nice office right next to Torre Agbar in Barcelona in case you want to work from there too).
